Talent: “Who We Are”

Megan:

Megan

By the age of fifteen I knew I wanted to be a hairdresser. My first job was at a local salon in Cushing Square, Belmont, and I knew I was exactly where I belonged. I worked there through high school shampooing, answering the phone, and occasionally mixing a color or blow-drying a client. I loved everything about working in a salon, especially seeing clients walking out, looking and feeling great. I couldn’t wait to get behind the chair!

I enrolled in hair school as soon as I graduated from high school and continued working at the salon on evenings and Saturdays.  In 1999, a stylist I worked with opened Essentials and I followed her there without a second thought. It was so exciting to be involved in opening a new salon and I was hooked! A few years later, in the summer of 2008, she approached me to purchase Essentials.  Again, without a second thought, I jumped at the chance.  I had known for years I wanted my own salon.   I bought Essentials in September of 2008 and immediately began planning when I would move back to Cushing Square and own the salon of my dreams.

Finally, in October of 2011, my vision came to fruition. I moved Essentials back to Cushing Square. Essentials Salon is a boutique salon that offers cutting edge styles in an elegant, comfortable setting.  Our stylists have the most up to date training and products to create the perfect style for every client.  Through continuing education and never settling for anything but the best, my team and I get to do what we love every day… Great Hair!
